When You Know You Won’t Be Able to Unsee It

The market for garden rooms is crowded. While some companies offer high-quality spaces, many fall short — and once you know what to look for, it’s hard to ignore the differences.

At Creating Spaces Garden Rooms, we’re proud to do things better — with craftsmanship, materials, and design choices that elevate our builds far beyond the industry standard. Here's how we stand apart:

1. Sleek, Seamless Roof Edges

Most companies use a large, nailed-on plastic trim to edge the roof. It’s functional, sure — but it’s also bulky and dated. We take a different approach: a wafer-thin, precision-cut aluminium trim that complements our cladding and creates a crisp, contemporary look. Our mitered canopy corners and attention to detail complete the premium finish.

2. Full-Height Glazing

Standard height doors are, well… standard. But we saw an opportunity to go further. Through careful structural engineering, we removed the need for a visible overhead beam, allowing us to install full-height glass doors that run all the way up to the ceiling — bringing in more light and enhancing the sense of space.

3. Hidden Roof Slope & Gutters

All flat roof garden rooms need a slope for water runoff — but that doesn't mean it has to show. We’ve designed our Pods so the external elevations stay completely level, disguising the slope and giving the appearance of a perfect, seamless cube. Gutters are cleverly concealed, meaning your pod looks stunning from every angle.

4. Higher Ceilings Within Permitted Heights

Many garden rooms are limited to 2.5m height under permitted development rules, leading to cramped-feeling ceilings. We offer a solution: by adapting how we lay foundations, we’re able to raise internal ceiling height while staying within regulations — something rarely done in the industry. And since every pod is fully bespoke, we tailor ceiling heights to your space and vision.

Things We Often See

(And Avoid)

Sadly, we regularly notice basic mistakes shown openly on websites and social media — things that compromise safety, durability, and compliance:

  • No fire protection

  • Concrete foundations poured straight onto grass

  • Poor insulation — and no vapour control layer

  • Undersized roof joists

  • No ventilation for cladding (top or bottom)

  • Incorrect breather membranes and battening

  • Ignored planning and building regulations

These shortcuts might save money in the short term, but they can lead to long-term headaches. We build garden rooms the right way — with construction-grade standards from the ground up.
